EP: Brame - Make Your Mind Up // Idiosync Music

House // Deep House

Manchester collective Idiosync Music return to bring us their third release, an EP from Ireland's young upstart Brame. In typical Idiosync fashion, they push and nurture upcoming talent, which is in line with the ethos of their successful Manchester parties. This ethos of quality is one that ensures they concentrate on the music they release, you only have to check out the hauntingly addictive first EP from Ed Regan to know such is truth.

Make Your Mind Up is as a whole EP groove-led, differing slightly to the previous two releases. The title track is made for the dance floor; a deep house melody leads the punctuation pops of synth, a vocal loop winds its way between the delectable beat. Enlisting Manchester's Rekreation for remix duties, the track is taken deeper still. 'You Just Need' completes the EP with a huge uplift, and as well as being geared for dance floors, it's got the vibe of reflection embedded within it. A beaut of a breakdown encapsulates well the infectious hook and for us, is the pick of the lot.

EP: Alcatraz Harry & Ali Scott - He's Mine // iDiOSYNC Music

House

Our very own growing Manchester institution (by way of Leeds) return this week to drop the second release on their newly formed imprint iDiOSYNC Music. The collective's first release on the imprint earlier this year was by Ed Regan; it was noted by Resident Advisor as being "a truly tortured beauty", one that, aside from the remixes, steered past the peak-time dance floor orientated music their sellout parties push. This latest EP, however, is one that realigns itself with the vanguard that iDiOSYNC champion.

The EP entitled He's Mine is a collaboration by Alcatraz Harry & Ali Scott; the title track opens with a sultry exchange of heated words, which evolves in to a simple, spacious house track. Remix duties come in huge form from Saytek, a producer we very recently featured as remixing Owen Howell's 'You'. He adds a touch of class through his melody-led percussive beat in a track that'll find a comfortable home on a Balearic beach, come sunrise or sunset.

It's an exciting second release from an imprint we can't wait to hear more from. Keep an eye on their releases here and to hear more about the guys behind the brand, check out our exclusive interview with them here.

The track is officially released via Beatport 12th July 2012. Keep an eye out

Interview: Behind Manchester Club Night iDiOSYNC

Just over two years ago, Manchester club night and collective iDiOSYNC were drawn together through a mutual understanding of good music. What is deemed as ‘good’ is relative, but what is ‘good’ to iDiOSYNC is clearly evident in their finely crafted parties where an affinity for cutting edge house is at the fore of all they do.

This driving passion for solid, forward thinking music follows through to their newly launched label of which a milestone was hit as the first EP from Ed Regan landed this week.

I caught up with Eoin Thomas, one of the founding three members, whilst he was nursing the bittersweet aftermath of a successful label launch party... and was on the bus.

Get to know iDiOSYNC.
