EP: Bicep - You/Don't // Aus Music
Deep House // 90s Warehouse

If you missed Bicep playing out at Homoelectric a couple of weekends ago in Manchester, shame on you! This week the comedic Irish duo drop their best release to date in this EP entitled You/Don't on Will Saul's Aus Music, a testament in itself to the calibre of this release and their rising notoriety. The Irish duo, who keep us amused through their tongue-in-cheek approach to blogging, work with fellow Irish man Ejeca on 'You', a deeper than usual homage to 90s warehouse raves.
Opening up with sunrise strings, the track allows you to basque in its layered, percussive beauty before understated dance floor beats hit. The insanely chopped vocal adds a sense of epic proportions; imagine standing on a fortress, overlooking a city as the sun rises, arms reached out trying to touch the sky in a defiant pleas to the gods. The constant sense of euphoria is like a sunrise that never stops over this make-believe sleeping city.
B-side 'Don't' remains on the deeper side of things, teaming with Omar Odyssey of Waze & Odyssey fame, the track is straight up house, again nodding to the sounds of the 90s.
Overall a truly epic release, one that will propel the duo in to a brighter spotlight, one that shines on through the summer of 2012 and beyond.
