Exhibition: Unit X @ BLANKSPACE

Unit X is a 10-week curriculum spanning all courses across the Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University. Only two more days remain to see a part of this festival at BLANKSPACE.

Unit X 2012 sees MMU students engage with each other and the city that they occupy, Manchester, in an innovative project that represents a novel and dynamic form of teaching and learning at university level. This year’s Unit X Festival is the culmination of their findings and students have been encouraged to research and present outputs in an active way.

As part of this fetsival, BLANKSPACE welcomes two Unit X groups; one of photography students, and one other presenting textile innovation.

The exhibition explores themes of science, space and repetition. Take a look below at examples of photography work.

Textile Innovation is an exhibition of six Textiles in Practice students from Manchester School of Art, who have collaborated to produce work based around ‘Interrogating Manchester’, creating textiles in an unconventional way. See below for examples.

For further details & info, check out Blank Media's page & the official mmu page. And be sure to share if you like what you see.
